Go and Make Disciples

There are certain values that are core to who we are as a parish and what we consider important. We call these our Heart Values. They are listed below.

Evangelization

EvangelizationWe recognize one another as gifts of God, inviting and inspiring all to become disciples of Jesus.
  • Believe the teachings of the Church contained in the creed and catechism
  • Be an example to others of someone trying to live the teachings of Jesus Christ
  • Share your faith with your children and form them to be disciples
  • Once a week, talk about some aspect of faith with co-workers, neighbors, or friends
  • Commit my five percent tithe to assist with the work of the parish
  • Meet one new member of the parish each year.

Formation

FormationWe embrace formation as a life-long journey of spiritual growth, individually and as a community.
  • Read one book a year to learn more about the Catholic faith
  • Attend one formation event a year, i.e. Lenten Mission, bible studies, SPIRITuality Alive
  • Once a year teach someone younger than you about some aspect of following Jesus Christ
  • Offer service at least once a year to the school, religious education, youth or athletic program
  • Utilize the parish school, religious education and youth programs to assist you in the formation of your children
     

Charity/Justice

Charity and JusticeWe go forth to love and serve, sharing our God-given gifts with each other and throughout the world.
  • Ask for and receive help from others when you are in need
  • Spend an average of one hour a week in service to parish or community
  • Reflect on and pray about the service you have offered others
  • Once a year engage your political leaders in concerns for justice

Worship

WorshipWe joyfully celebrate Christ among us through full, active and vibrant worship.
  • Attend and participate in Mass every Sunday to reconnect with God in the Body of Christ
  • Attend Holy Day Mass
  • Receive the forgiveness of God through Reconciliation at least once a year
  • Spend at least 10-15 minutes a day in private prayer or reading scripture
  • Pray before meals giving thanks to God for gifts received
  • Attend at least one other prayer opportunity, i.e. Stations, Adoration, etc.
  • Have a welcoming attitude toward others at Mass and in the parking lot
