Church's Dove: In our church Columb means 'dove' in Gaelic and kille is 'church,' so Columbkille came to be known as the 'church's dove.'

Source and Summit Prayer

Father in heaven,
source of holiness and true purpose,
it is right that we praise and glorify your name.

As we begin the process of renewing the place
where we worship you,
we ask for your help to make
the campaign and the renovation a complete success.

Lord, send your Spirit from heaven
to make our church an ever-holy place,
and its altar a ready table for the sacrifice of Christ.
May the Eucharist, the Source of our strength
and the Summit of our praise, be celebrated here
in the midst of your holiness and power.

Here may your children, a temple built of living stones,
gather to hear your Word proclaimed and your truth spoken.
Here may prayer, the Church’s banquet,
resound through heaven and earth
as a plea for the world’s salvation.
Here may the poor find justice,
the victims of oppression true freedom,
and all children of God the inherent dignity given
to them by you, their Creator.

May the generosity of our hearts and the work of our hands
make this a place of beauty where heaven and earth touch.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever.

Amen
