Meeting Minutes

May 3, 2007

Members Present: Phil Knicky, Fran Harrison, Christine Yanovich, Jim Farhart, Dick Van Haute, Valarie Galing, Christine Overkamp and Fr. Damian

Opening Prayer was lead by Dick Van Haute

Pastor’s Report

• Father Damien Wee will become the new Associate Pastor of our church sometime in June as Fr. Vitalis moves on to become the new pastor at Hooper
• Andrew Rossa will be celebrating masses with us this summer while Fr. Steve is in Humphrey
• June 10th will be a farewell party for Fr. Vitalis
• Strengths Finder created by Gallup will be used sometime soon to help people find their talents within the parish

Principal’s Report

• The new calendar for next year is finished and will be sent home to the parents soon.
• There will be a hot dog fun lunch on the Thursday before school is out.
• HSA will be providing a treat on the playground the last day of school at 11:15 instead of hot dogs
• There have been over 15 scholarships handed out so far this year to eighth graders going on to a Catholic high school
• Annual report will be done in June
• Spanish summer school for beginners ( a jump start program) will be offered this summer by our new Spanish teacher Jill Tomson for 7th and 8th graders only
• Nine projectors have been installed in the classrooms and there has been funding for 2 more

President’s Report

• Phil will contact the newly appointed board members for next year and Father Damian will send an official letter of appointment.
  
  The new members are Dave Woodard, Kim Sobczyk, and Kim Chase
   
• Nomination for SAC officers took place.
  President - Dick Van Haute, Mark Narke, and Fran Harrison;
  Vice President - Dick Van Haute, Fran Harrison, and Mark Narke;
  Secretary - Christine Yanovich.
  
  Voting for new office members will take place at the next meeting

3000 Series

• Policy #3002.1 Reviewed and no changes were made
• Policy #3003.1 Reviewed and a revision was made to read ...must be approved by the Principal, Pastor and the Parish Business and Operations Manager
• Policy #3005.1 Reviewed and no changes were made
• Policy #3502.1 Was shelved until the next meeting
• Policy # 3503.1 Reviewed and no changes were made
  
  The 3000 policy series will be finished in June.

The next SAC meeting will be June 7th at 7:30 in the school library.
