School Advisory Council (SAC)
Meeting Minutes
October 4, 2007
Members Present:
Kim Chase, Mark Narke, Kim Sobczyk, Dick VanHaute, Dave Woodard,
Christine Yanovich, Chris Zuerlein, Father Damian, Valarie Galing and Chris
Overkamp
Opening Prayer was lead by Christine Yanovich
Pastor’s Report:
The board needs to come up with 5 or 6 goals and objectives for the
school to be included in the parish 5-year plan by January.
Principal’s Report:
• ITBS testing for grades 3 thru 8 have been completed and must be
mailed by October 12th.
• The staff attended a 3 hour Faith Formation session on prayer lead by
Father Salanitro on Thursday, October 4th
• On Friday October 5th the staff will be attending the archdiocese
conference at Skutt High School
• The HSA will be hosting a family fun night on October 24th. The theme
will be “Day of the Dead” a Mexican celebration
• High school recruitment will be in November
• Parent teacher conferences will be held October 21st and 22nd
• A new contract is being made with Dennis Uniforms for the 2008-2009
school year to include capri pants for the girls, a new cut for the girls
skirt and skort and a crusaders zipper jacket will also be offered
President’s Report:
• Serving dinner at the Stephens Center was a success on September 12th
• Passed out the School Policy 4000 series for members to review and small
groups are to meet to make any suggestions on items that need to be
changed at the next meeting
• Archdiocese School board meeting was October 3rd. Handouts from that
meeting were passed out describing the roles and expectations of a school
board
• Update on Rule 4 pertaining to the textbook loan program was given. A
decision has not been made yet
• Catholic School symposium will be October 2, 2008 at the QWEST center
• The next meeting will be November 1, 2007 at 7:30pm in the school
library
The next meeting will be September 6th at 7:30 in the library
