School Advisory Council (SAC)
Meeting Minutes

December 6, 2007

Members Present:

Dick Van Haute, Fran Harrison, Jim Farhart, Christine Yanovich, Kim Chase, Mark Narke, Dave Woodard, Valarie Galing, Chris Overkamp and Father Damian

Opening Prayer was lead by Dick Van Haute

Principal’s Report:

• Explained the difference between the three different emergency or crisis schedules the teachers may be asked to follow
• ITBS scores are back and have been shared with parents
• HSA family night at HyVee on December 11th from 6:30-8:30
• Deacon Krueger is working with all departments in the area of stewardship
• Father Gilg will be made Monsignor Gilg at Cathedral on December 13th

Pastor’s Report:

• The church is preparing for Christmas
• All of the school kids attended Reconciliation on December

President’s Report:

• Matt Miller from the finance committee spoke and is in the process of gathering financial information to present to the SAC. It will include an expense budget and have general numbers on the tithing of school families
• Thanked all members that attended the Focus Group meeting for the planning of the Symposium in 2008
• Worked on creating long range goals for the school

Next Meeting will be January 10th at 7:30 pm in the school library
