School Advisory Council (SAC)
Meeting Minutes

February 6, 2008

Members Present: Dick VanHaute, Jim Farhart, Kim Chase, Kim Sobczyk, Fran Harrison, Dave Woodard, Chris Zuerlein, Christine Yanovich, Chris Overkamp, Valarie Galing

Opening Prayer was lead by Kim Sobczyk

Pastor’s Report: None

Principal’s Report:

• Catholic school’s week went well
• Registration is under way for current school families for the 2008-2009 school year
• Dcn David has asked the school board and HSA to serve a snack for mission week during the week of February 18th
• The Fish Fry committee has asked for students to dress properly if they are going to volunteer for the Fish Fry (ex. No flip flops, no bellies showing, pants pulled up, etc.)
• A change was proposed to change to dates in the handbook when shorts may be worn from April 15th to April 1st and October 15th to November 1st.  This change was approved by the School Advisory Council.

Finance Report Matt Miller:

• Handed out the church budget for the past 6 months

• Report was handed out showing a breakdown of pledges made by school families

President’s Report:

• The development committee went over the different goals submitted by church groups.  The committee was impressed by the  SAC goals and thought they were attainable
• Three committees need to be formed within the SAC to help us attain our goals.  The three groups would be Communication, Alumni and After School Care
• Kim Chase will be leading the After School Care committee, Kim Sobczyk will be leading the Communication Committee and the Dave Woodard will be leading the Alumni Committee.  All board members will be joining one of the committees.
• Begin brainstorming new members for the SAC
