Confirmation

Confirmation places a person in a fuller participation of the life of the Holy Spirit begun in Baptism and nourished in the Eucharist. It enhances each individual with grace, insight and understanding to live more fully a life of faith. That faith is not an individual effort. Parents, leaders, friends and the parish community form the immediate environment of faith in which one develops.

Confirmation is a two year process that begins in seventh grade and the sacrament is given in eighth grade. Requirements for each grade level are provided below.

Seventh Grade

Attend the Rite of Enrollment Mass
Retreat (sponsored by St. Columbkille)
3 Service projects: (1) Family, (1) Community (1) Parish

Eighth Grade

Attend the Right of Enrollment Mass
Retreat (sponsored by St. Columbkille)
1 Service project (will be completed with their class)
Choose their Confirmation Name and write a report on that saint
Choose their Confirmation sponsor
Write a letter to the Archbishop
Complete a Confirmation interview
