History

Ministry of Mothers Sharing is a national program that began with a group of mothers at St. Timothy Parish in Mesa Arizona in 1986. Its creators, Sr. Paula Hagan, OSB, Vicki Jennet and Patricia Hoyt, were committed to designing a process that encouraged prayer, discussion and friendship among women of all ages.

Today, MOMS has developed into a spirituality process for all women in over 1,000 parishes. Since Sr. Paula initiated MOMS in Omaha in June 1992, thousands of women have benefited from this life-giving experience. St. Columbkille offered its first MOMS series in 1997.

The MOMS program continues to serve two purposes. First, it is a program that leads to personal self-awareness and awakening to the spirituality of everyday life. Secondly, it has been tremendously successful in bringing about a sense of belonging, hospitality, faith-sharing, and genuine community in churches across the country.
