Deacons

A man over 35 years of age may apply to enter the Deacon Formation Program of the Archdiocese of Omaha. Married men also may be ordained as Permanent Deacons; their wives also attend the formation process.

Some responsibilities as a Deacon:

Assist the poor, the elderly, and/or the infirm Preside at the Sacrament of Matrimony (weddings) Administer the Sacrament of Baptism Lead funeral services Preside for "Holy Communion Outside of Mass" Lead devotions and community prayer
