Knights of Columbus Council 6429
St. Columbkille Parish has been served by Archbishop Bergan Council 6429 since 1972. Brother Knights work to fulfill the central mission of the Order: striving in charitable works; serving the Church and unified in following its teachings; supporting brother Knights in their temporal and spiritual needs; acting for the good of their country; and giving aid to widows, orphans, the sick and the poor. Our council provided the parish sign on 84th Street and has provided manpower and financial support for the parish festival, school, religious education and other parish groups. We sponsor a pancake breakfast each month after the 7:30, 9:00 & 10:30 AM Masses. The breakfast is in the Church Social Level and is open to the public. Other activities include annual drives for Right to Life, mentally retarded and Salvation Army. Annually we sponsor a free-throw contest for youth, and a Pro-Life essay contest. We provide one $1,000 and two $500 scholarships for a parish 8th grader going to a Catholic High School. Men who are practical Catholics are invited to join the Order. Our Council meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Steinhausen Center. If you would like more information about the Knights of Columbus, please contact Mike Krzywicki, 402-592-2308 |
