	Pentecost Sunday, May 11, 2008, we will invite parishioners and friends to commit or recommit to being Prayer Walkers and Drivers.  This year we will also offer a "Direct Line" Prayer program. Sign-up will be held after all the Masses the weekend of May 10 and 11.  Sign-up can also be done online.

Purpose

The Purpose of SPIRITuality ALIVE is to offer an opportunity to everyone in the parish as well as their friends and neighbors to take part in a spiritual growth and evangelization program.

Goal

The Goal is to eventually connect every person in the St. Columbkille Parish Community to a SPIRIT-filled faith sharing group.

Principles

The Five Principles which form the structure of a faith sharing group are:

• Worship - We were created to give pleasure to God.
• Community - We are part of the family of God.
• Discipleship - We are called to be like Jesus.
• Ministry - We are called to serve the parish community.
• Mission - We are called to reach beyond the parish community and serve others.

History

SPIRITuality ALIVE was launched Pentecost Sunday, May 27, 2007. We began by recruiting Prayer Walkers and Drivers. More than 100 parishioners and friends committed to praying that the Holy Spirit would truly speak to folks, in a specific area of town, encouraging them to become involved in a spirituality program. We prayed during June and July.

In August 2007, we began to recruit hosts for the faith sharing groups and then recruited participants for the groups. Around 300 people participated in the first six-week session which began in September 2007. The books featured in the first session were The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and Habits of the Soul by Linda Perrone Rooney

We began to pray again in January 2008 for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The second six-week session took place during Lent.  Books featured were The Power of the Cross by Michael Dubruiel and Fully Devoted by John Ortberg.
