The Celebration of the Eucharist – breaking of the bread – is our chance to participate in Jesus’s passion, death on the cross, and resurrection that ultimately saves us from sin. This spiritual food for our souls gives us Jesus’ grace to help us grow to be like Him. Receiving the Eucharist also connects us as Catholics. Just as Jesus gave Himself to us, He unites all Catholics as a community when we share in the Body of Christ. The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Catholic Faith.
