SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Students receive special, intense preparation for Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. This is done in cooperation with the parent/guardian. Students will receive the sacraments after they are adequately prepared. Families in both the Parish School and Religious Education Programs celebrate reception of the sacraments jointly.
Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist begins in first grade. The sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist are received for the first time in second grade.
Confirmation preparation begins in seventh grade. The sacrament of Confirmation is received in the eighth grade.
Meetings are scheduled with the pastor/assistant pastor during the year so that parents may review the content of preparation, deepen their own understanding of the sacrament being received, and help prepare their children for receiving these sacraments. Sacramental preparation will involve the family and include activities done outside of class.
