Boys and girls, fourth grade to high school, are welcome to be altar servers. Altar servers are generally scheduled to serve at least once a month. Altar servers may be scheduled for weekday, weekend, or Holy Day Masses or scheduled for other special parish liturgical celebrations.

All altar servers are required to attend training sessions before they are placed on a rotational schedule. Boys and girls in public school are not scheduled for the 8:15 a.m. Mass on weekdays.

During the 10:30 a.m. Mass, Kindergarten through fourth grade children are called forward and leave the sanctuary to listen to the readings from the Children’s Lectionary. They return to Mass at the time of the Children’s collection.  Individuals are needed to lead and assist in this gathering of our young parishioners once a month.

Current Safe Environment Training is required. There is a one-time training session, and new leaders are invited to observe a few sessions before leading themselves.

They maintain the materials used in our prayer, and they assist the priest in preparing for all sacramental occasions. An interview is required with the pastor before ministry preparation and service begins.
